Stained, In Flux, Discerning the Next

Last week, I spent two days attending the Willow Creek Leadership Summit.

Since Thursday morning, I’ve been unsettled, uncomfortable and uncertain.

In the grand scheme, these are good, no great, things.

Wonderful and majestic things.

Eternal things.

But in the meantime, I have been shaken.

And it’s time for me to discern a call.

And my response.

I think it looks something like this:

In the meantime, could I ask you to pray for me?

I am praying for you – that God reveals all that you need to know right when you need to know it – and that in the meantime you are wrapped in peace and grace like a blanket.

I am praying that you be filled to overflowing with the peace of our Lord. I pray that you will be blessed with wisdom and discernment as He speaks to you through the power of His Holy Spirit.

Being unsettled, uncomfortable, and uncertain usually leads to good things. It usually forces us to depend on him who is strong when we’re weak.

Ray, thanks very much. You guys put on a great conference this year. Nice work.

Mom, thank you, thank you thank you.

Heather, that’s exactly what I’m looking for, thanks.
